The Urgency of the Commission

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)

People are dying everyday. How many of them are dying without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

In the Great Commission, Jesus commanded His disciples:

"Go then, and make disciples of all the nations, giving them baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit:
Teaching them to keep all the rules which I have given you: and see, I am ever with you, even to the end of the world." Matthew 28:19-20

The Bible tells us that God does not want anyone to perish -- to die without Jesus' blood to cover their sins. We are commanded to share His gospel with the world, in our homes, neighborhoods, and even to the ends of the earth.

"It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment  (Hebrews 9:27)." As you consider this visual depiction of death in the world, pray that God will bring opportunities for you to share His word with others.

20930: The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for JesusThe Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus

When Lee Strobel's wife became a Christian, he found that the positive changes in her were too noticeable to ignore. Strobel decided to subject the claims of Christianity to the type of scrutiny he used in reporting on legal cases for a major newspaper.

After having all his questions answered, Strobel pulls the evidence together and presents the verdict. Not surprisingly, the verdict, based on legal rules for evidence, pointed to Jesus being exactly who the Bible says he is. The evidence overwhelmingly points to Jesus being the son of God, who died on the cross and rose three days later. So if you have questions about the truth of the Christian claims, or know someone who does, this book is the best place to start.

The goal: Determine if there's credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the son of God. Retracing his own spiritual journey, Strobel cross examines the experts with tough, point-blank questions: "How reliable is the New Testament?", "Does evidence exist for Jesus outside of the Bible?", "Is there any reason to believe resurrection was an actual historical event?" This adaption of Lee Strobel's remarkable book packs the energy of a captivating, fast paced novel. But it is not fiction. It is a riveting quest for the truth about history's most compelling figure. What will your verdict be in The Case for Christ? Determine if there really is credible evidence that Jesus of Nazareth really is the Son of God. Read by Dick Fredricks.
